Similar to Date with an Angel
Aspiring composer Jim Sanders is engaged to spoiled rich girl Patty. But the morning after his bachelor party, Jim wakes up to discover a beautiful, broken-winged angel in his pool. When everyone finds out about his heavenly houseguest, Jim must cope with a dangerously jealous fiancée, an exploitive future father-in-law and a group of buddies with an outrageous business plan!

***When a celestial blonde angel comes to take you away*** This is sort of a mixture of two flicks that came out a decade later, “Michael” and “City of Angels.” While not great like those films, it’s fun and amusing enough for those interested. The tone is closer to “Michael” as opposed to the serious drama of “City of Angels,” although there’s a bit of that too. French actress Emmanuelle Béart was 23yo during shooting and works well as the squealing or chirping angel. This happened to be her American debut. Phoebe Cates was also 23 as the protagonist’s spoiled fiancé, unfortunately strapped with a boys’ haircut. David Dukes is on hand as her no-nonsense father. It runs 1h 45m and was shot Feb-May 1987 at DEG Studios in Wilmington, North Carolina, as well as the town of Burgaw to the north of there and Carolina Beach to the south. GRADE: B-
